About the Event

This ISCFD is thrilled to host an evening with Dr. Neil Ashton from the Department of Engineering Science at Oxford University. Dr. Ashton will discuss high-fidelity CFD in the Automotive sector, providing us with a unique insight from one of the field's leading experts.

Dr Neil Ashton is a Senior Researcher within the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on bridging the gap between academia and industry and developing the next generation of Computational Fluid Dynamics approaches with a particular focus on turbulence modelling and High-Performance Computing (HPC). He completed his PhD at the University of Manchester and later worked at the Lotus Formula 1 team, where he was responsible for helping to develop the CFD and HPC methodology for the aerodynamic department. He returned to academia at the University of Manchester and then later as a visiting scholar at NASA Ames Research Centre. He now leads the vehicle aerodynamics research group within the Department of Engineering Science and acts as a consultant to Formula 1 Management and British Cycling. He is a Chartered Engineer and his research spans from developing greener road vehicles to the next generation of hypersonic planes.

We look forward to seeing you there!

This evening is hosted by the International Society for Computational Fluid Dynamics (ISCFD), a society aimed at promoting, educating and developing solutions to real-world challenges.
